Tips
– Where to Start
|
1.
UNDERSTAND YOUR SPACE –
Consider Your Options
|
*
Will
you be adding space or
working with existing space?
*
Will
you be changing windows,
doors, sliders, etc?
|
|
 |
|
2.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK
|
*
Look
through magazines and cut out
pictures that have the look and feel
of your desired design scheme.
*
BE
AWARE – Choices of cabinet and
countertop materials, colors and
finishes will be
overwhelming. These choices are made
at the end of the process not
the beginning.
* Make
a list of what’s most important to
you – storage space, counter
space, island, double sink, Etc. |
|
3.
CONSIDER APPLIANCES
|
*
Prior
to the design phase it is best to
consider what types of appliances
you will be using.
*
You
will find that the choices here will
have a dramatic impact on both the
ultimate design and budget.
Some
questions we’d ask…
|
|
1.
Do you need to relocate plumbing?
2.
Would you like to use a wall oven
and cook top or range?
3.
Do you need to alter ventilation?
Gas or Electric?
4.
Will you keep the appliances you
have? |
|
4.
MEET A DESIGN PROFESSIONAL
|
*
A
Representative will come to your
home to discuss your needs and wants.
*
Measurements
will be taken.
* Together,
with you, options will be discussed
until the Designer has enough
information to provide a detailed
design.
|
|
5.
MAKE SELECTIONS
|
* Once a design meets your satisfaction
a door style, color and finish can be
selected, a price quote can be done.
*
Select
a coordinated countertop to complete
your design vision. (Sometimes
people choose this first –
that’s okay, too!)
|
|
6.
SHOP AROUND
|
|
*
We
mean it! You must feel confident
that you are receiving a quality
product at a fair price.
|
|
We
at Stilson Cabinet Company believe the more
clients are educated, the more they’ll
appreciate the value we are able to offer.
